This part was designed to be 3d-printed, and you can access the onshape CAD files here.
Characterized for all stages of flight
In order to have reliable simulations, I characterized the TVC mount for the ascent and descent phases of flight using MATLAB and Simulink. After generating a transfer function for the TVC mounts response, I can reliably model any mechanical slop caused by the inertia of the dual motor design in the simulation and tune my flight control gains to compensate.
Engineered for Speed
Simulations showed that a higher speed TVC mount resulted in better control through complex flight trajectories. To accomplish this, the mount uses the fastest hobby servos money can buy: (mks HV93i) and tight tolerances to reduce slop.
